A Prayer for Beginning

A prayer for beginning

Dear God

I’m here

and ready to start

something new

fresh and exciting

I’m opening

my heart and spirit to you

fill me up

with your mercy

and your love and grace

I’m ready to begin

yet I’m afraid and wondering:

Can I do this?

Am I good enough?
Am I strong enough?
Will I commit enough?

But you are here with me

loving me

calling me forward

whispering to me

that I am your beloved

The season of spring

draws me in

full of newness

and hope

beauty and abundance

open my eyes

to see

the hope of starting

new and small

one step after another

following your spirit

knowing it will guide me

into this new thing

and trusting

it will be good.
